Corbin 3 North Surgical is a 36-bed medical-surgical unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses. We offer compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the continuum of recovery. Our team specializes in post-operative management, medical stabilization, and ongoing treatment of acute and chronic conditions. 3NorthSurgical is committed to delivering high-quality, coordinated care that supports safe healing, patient education, andoptimaloutcomes for every individual we serve.
Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon theprinciples of psychological, biological,physical,and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs,incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Mustpossessthe ability to supervise LPNs,CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continuallymonitorand adhere to safetyresponsibilities and initiatives.
Description:
Complete and document patient assessments, care plans, and changes in condition.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care, education, and discharge plans.
Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to meet patient needs.
Perform clinical procedures, implement provider orders, and respond appropriately to emergencies.
Utilize critical thinking, SBAR communication, and sound judgment to promote patient safety.
Delegate tasks appropriately and provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff.
Prioritize workload,facilitatepatient flow, and ensureaccuratereporting and documentation.
Serve as a role model, resource, and mentor while promoting teamwork and accountability.
Participate in orientation, professional development, and shared governance activities.Maintain licensure, complete required training, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Nursing and current RN licenserequired.
No experiencerequired;Bachelor's Degreeand patient care experience preferred.
Current Kentucky RN license or work permitrequired.
BLS, ACLS, Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia, NIH Stroke, Glucometer Training, and Nurse Wound Care certificationsrequired(may be obtained within established post-hiretimeframes).
