Position:Nursing Assistant

Unit Description

2A ICU is a 21-bed medical/surgical ICU serving high acuity medical ICU patients.  The unit population is cardiac interventions, SARS, Cardiogenic shock,Rotoprone, Post-partum critical care patients and complex care ICUpatientsmost of which have a medical or cardiac diagnosis.

Shift:Part-time,Nights

Job Description: 

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech (PCT/HUC): 

• Provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursingprocedures .

• Routine duties toassistmedical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients. 

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required: 

• High School Diploma orequivalent .

• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification (SRNA, CNA) required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation.(Must provide a letter from school verifying completion of first yearclinicals.)

• BasicLifeSupport- Applicants will have30 daysfrom their hired date to provide completion of this certification if theydon’thave it already.
