GEICO is in the midst of an exciting transformation as a product and tech powered company. We are seeking a Senior Director of Product Management, Platform and Infrastructure Services.

This role will define and drive theenterprise product strategy for Platform & Infrastructure Servicesacross GEICO, spanningIaaS, hybrid cloud, data center engineering, and networkplatforms.The leader will be responsible for translating enterprise priorities aroundplatform adoption, reliability, cost efficiency, and developer productivityinto a cohesive product strategy across a broad portfolio of foundational services. These include compute, databases, messaging, storage, document platforms, hybrid cloud, identity and access, networking, and developer platforms.In this role, you willbridge product, platform engineering, SRE, and business teams, driving a unified roadmap across PaaS and Infra while ensuring:

  • Platforms arehighly available, secure, and compliant

  • Infrastructure iscost-efficient and optimized via FinOps levers

  • Developers increasinglyself-serve via platform capabilities and paved roads

  • Adoption of platform services scales through aforward-deployed engineering model.

Location: Seattle (preferred location) and Palo Alto.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform & Infrastructure Product Strategy & Vision

Define and execute amulti-year product visionacross Platformand Infrastructure domains, including:

  • Platformservices: compute, databases, messaging, storage, API management, and document platforms

  • Infrastructure services: hybrid cloud, private cloud, network, identity, and data center engineering

Drive a“platform-first” strategy focused on adoption and reuse, ensuring GEICO workloads run onstandardized, enterprise-grade platforms rather than bespoke infrastructure.

Align strategy to enterprise priorities:

  • Cost-to-serve reduction viacloud optimization, repatriation, and FinOps

  • Platform reliability and operational excellence (availability,MTTx, incident reduction)

  • Developer productivity throughself-service platforms and paved roads

2. Portfolio Ownership & Product Roadmap Leadership

Own and drive across-platform product roadmapspanning:

  • Unified Control Plane for consistent provisioning and operations across services

  • Core services (databases, messaging, caching, storage, API management, workflows)

  • Document, workflowplatforms

  • AI-native developer experiences (e.g., AI-blueprints, AI-assisted migrations, MCP integration)

  • Hybrid cloud platforms and private cloud capacity expansion

  • Inframodernization

  • Identity, certificate, and security infrastructure

  • Data center lifecycle

Ensure roadmap prioritization is:

  • Adoption-driven(platform usage, onboarding metrics, customer growth)

  • Cost-informed(FinOps savings,utilization, cost attribution gaps)

  • Reliability-aware(incident trends, platform health, SLA adherence)

3. Platform Adoption & Developer Experience

Drive adoption of platform services through:

  • Forward-deployed engineering modelto onboard critical workloads

  • Standardized “paved road” experiences (blueprints, Terraform,GitOpspatterns, AI-assisted workflows)to fast track adoption

  • Unified developer experience via asingle control plane interface for all services

4. Cost Optimization & FinOps Leadership

Leadplatform-level FinOps strategyacross PaaS and Infrastructure:

  • Drive cost andutilizationoptimization initiativesvia targeted improvements,rightsizing compute/storage/networkresources, SKUoptimizationsand platform consolidation

  • Partner with FinOps& engineeringto build cost insights and attribution models

  • Ensure cost efficiency scales alongside platform adoption

5. Reliability, Availability & Operational Excellence

Ensure platforms meet enterprise standards for:

  • Availability and resilience SLOs

  • Operational excellence(incident reduction, MTTx improvements)

  • Security, compliance, and vulnerability management(e.g., large-scale remediation efforts, PCI/NYDFS alignment)

  • Drive production readiness acrosshybrid cloud platforms

6. Stakeholder Alignment & Execution Governance

Act as thecentral product leader across Platform & Infra portfolios, driving alignment across:

  • Platform engineering and infrastructure teams

  • Cybersecurity, SRE, and developer experience teams

  • Finance (FinOps, procurement, cost governance)

  • Business and application teams onboarding to platforms

Ensure:

  • Clear prioritization of platform investments

  • Alignment on cost, reliability, and adoption goals

  • Visibility into roadmap status, risks, and dependencies

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience inproduct management leadership for platforms, infrastructure, or cloud services

  • Experience owninglarge-scale platform portfolios (PaaS, IaaS, or hybrid cloud)

  • Proven success in drivingplatform adoption and developer experience at scale

  • Strong understanding of:

  • Cloud platforms (Azure, hybrid cloud environments)

  • Platform engineering (paved roads, self-service platforms, control planes)

  • Distributed systems (databases, messaging, storage, APIs)

  • Experience drivingcost optimization / FinOps initiativesat scale

  • Demonstrated ability to influence incomplex, matrixed organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience buildinginternal developer platforms (IDP)or unified control planes

  • Familiarity withAI-enabled developer workflows and platform automation

  • Background ininfrastructure modernization (hybrid cloud, private cloud, DC transformation)

  • Experience scalingenterprise SaaS-like platforms internally

Annual Salary

$195,000.00 - $315,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
