The Emergency Department is a28-bedlevel III, emergency department,establishedto provide care for individuals with acute medical or surgical illnesses or injuries for which immediate medical attention isrequiredor desired.

Professional caregiver working under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse. Responsible for providing assigned care according to scope of practice. Has adequate knowledge to approach patients of all age groups. All employees will continuallymonitorand adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives

Description:

• Assistswith patient admission, orientation, and triage in the Emergency Department.

• Obtains and documents vital signs, weights, and patient information.

• Performsand communicates results of time-sensitive EKGs.

• Collectsand labels specimens according to policy.

• Assistswith wound care, splinting, and specimen collection during procedures.

• Transports patients andassistswith transfers and discharges.

• Monitorspatients, recognizing and reporting changes or life-threatening conditions.

• Maintainsclean, stocked, and safe patient care areas.

• Providesclerical support andassistsnursing staff as needed.

• Adheresto all safety, infection control, and hospital policies.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification isrequired. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within30 daysof their hire date.

• Additional Certification or Educationrequiredpost-hire:

• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association on hire

• Must obtain Glucometer Training on hire

• Must obtain Life Threatening Arrhythmia Training within30 days

• Must obtain Respiratory Training within30 days

• Must obtain Aegis Training
