Position Summary

Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of security services across City of Hope Duarte campus, ensuring the protection of patients, visitors, employees, and assets. This role assists with shift operations, emergency response on-site, and helps ensure security systems, parking operations, and safety processes run efficiently and effectively.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Lead and supervise security staff during assigned shifts across campus and offsite locations
  • Oversee daily security operations including access control, CCTV, alarms, investigations, and traffic/parking management
  • Coordinate initial response to emergency incidents and partner with leadership and emergency services
  • Conduct investigations into incidents, complaints, and security concerns while recommending risk mitigation strategies
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies
  • Assist with security budgeting, monitoring performance, and supporting operational goals
  • Support business continuity planning, drills, and emergency preparedness initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, reporting standards, and organizational policies
  • Prepare reports, review incident documentation, and contribute to continuous process improvements

Your qualifications should include:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of security experience (hospital or healthcare environment preferred)
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • CA Driver’s License
  • Guard Card
  • Pepper Spray Permit
  • CPR (within 3 months of hire)
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to respond effectively in high-pressure and emergency situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and security-related systems

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $26.48 - $38.25 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
