Project Manager (Health Innovation & Policy) (City of Hope National Medical Center; Duarte, CA):

Lead PM of high-priority, enterprise-level, cross-functional strategic healthcare initiatives for City of Hope across multiple states, ensuring alignment w/ federal, state, & local health policies. Apply human-centered design (HCD) to define personas, co-create digital workflows, & prototype scalable service delivery models under HIPAA & state/fed regs. Manage full project lifecycle from stakeholder alignment & scope definition through sprint planning, QA, & go-live, ensuring HIPAA compliance, metric alignment, & on-time/on-budget delivery. Plan, develop, & manage complex multi-state healthcare projects improving access to NCI-level cancer care across diverse socio-economic & geographic populations. Conduct region-specific assessments to ID service gaps & design programs addressing rural & underserved communities. Build workflows/procedures using Lean Six Sigma (LSS), leading implementations for seamless transitions between national hospital systems & local levels. Optimize efficiency, care quality, & patient outcomes via LSS, evaluating outcome goals, analyzing quantitative data, developing workflows, & defining resources, budgets, & timelines. Perform qualitative & quantitative analysis of PHI & demographic data to extract actionable insights informing product dev & market strategy. Ensure HIPAA & regulatory compliance while leveraging data to expand digital health offerings into underserved/emerging markets. Lead design & implementation of healthcare tech solutions tailored to new patient segments, integrating analytics-driven insights to address unique needs & disparities. Direct strategic planning & execution of AI-enabled healthcare product dev using HCD & Agile/Scrum methodologies. Collaborate w/ stakeholders across clinical depts, supportive care, patient/family councils, & Enterprise Tech to ID unmet needs, integrate resources, & build unified patient-facing digital platforms. Oversee complex tech projects across 6+ concurrent workstreams, driving cross-functional alignment on enterprise-scale digital health products. Evaluate, select, & implement healthcare management software & service providers supporting org objectives. Build custom weighted scoring models from the ground up to assess 3rd-party vendors, strategic partners, & clients across 6+ quantitative/qualitative metrics. Define metric weighting based on business priorities & stakeholder input, enabling objective vendor selection, partnership evals, & client assessments aligned w/ org goals & compliance standards. Develop & execute partnership strategies supporting enterprise growth, incl. contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, & long-term relationship mgmt. Manage domestic & international B2B relationships & collaborate w/ cross-border teams to align delivery, compliance, & KPIs across diverse markets. Present strategic recs to exec stakeholders (incl. C-suite & advisory boards) using advanced data viz & reporting tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, R, Python) to ID trends & inform decision-making. Create HCD-based patient journey mapping for cancer patients, clinicians, & health systems to ID optimization gaps. Telecommuting permitted from within the U.S.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Health Administration, Public Health, Economics, Business Administration, or related field, plus two (2) years of experience as a Project Manager (Health Innovation & Policy) or related occupation.

Must have experience with the following: managing full project life cycle of enterprise priority, multi-state healthcare initiatives using human-centered design methodologies under Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and regulatory frameworks; conducting region-specific assessments and working with state-specific healthcare regulations, provider networks, and access disparities for multi-state hospital system operations; building and standardizing new workflows and procedures using lean six sigma methodology and leading transition between national system and local levels; handling and interpreting patient health information (PHI) and socioeconomic data; leading the strategic planning and execution of AI-enabled healthcare product development initiatives using human-centered design principles and agile, or Scrum methodologies; overseeing technical projects across six or more concurrent workstreams or departments, ensuring cross-functional alignment on enterprise-scale digital health products; evaluating, selecting, and implementing healthcare management software platforms and service providers to support organizational objectives; developing custom weighted average scoring models from the ground up to evaluate third-party healthcare or innovation vendors, strategic partners, and clients across quantitative and qualitative performance metrics; acquiring and managing domestic and international business-to-business (B2B) relationships; applying data analysis and visualization tools to process large and complex datasets, identify patterns and trends, and communicating findings through visual human-centered storytelling to technical and executive stakeholders.

Hiring salary range: $93,398.45 to $144,766.54 per year

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
